British 'Punk Princess' to Show at iD Dunedin Fashion Week
(New Zealand) - January 2010
Internationally renowned fashion designer, Zandra Rhodes, will appear at this year's iD Dunedin Fashion Show. One of the original 'princesses of punk', Rhodes made history with her bold use of colour, prints and textiles, and was one of the new wave of British designers that put London at the forefront of the fashion scene in the 1970's.
Rhodes will showcase pieces from her current collection (including classic chiffon and organza eveningwear alongside her famous kaftans) as well as timeless vintage pieces from the late-60's and early-70's. The items will be paired with stunning jewellery from English sculptor, Andrew Logan, who will also be in attendance.
"I'm absolutely thrilled to be coming to beautiful New Zealand and very excited about my first ever visit to iD Dunedin Fashion Week," says Rhodes. "A highlight will be judging the collections at the iD Dunedin Emerging Designer Awards. I'll be looking for originality and flair, and that special something that sets them apart as a designer."
The 2010 iD Dunedin Fashion Show will be held across two consecutive nights - March 12-13.
