Now entering its seventeenth year, Westfield Style Pasifika is calling for people of all ages and abilities to create cutting-edge fashion inspired by the distinct and colourful fusion of Pasifika. The result will be an explosion of fashion, art and culture in a show that defines New Zealand’s unique style to be held at Auckland’s Vector Arena on Friday, 3 September.
“Westfield Style Pasifika is so much more than just an award. It gives people a chance to test their creative skills, push boundaries and take fashion to another level. Each and every year, I find myself blown away by innovation designs that are a true reflection of the South Pacific, European and Asian cultures within New Zealand,” says Stan Wolfgramm, creative director and show producer for Westfield Style Pasifika.
With an opportunity to win up to NZ$15,000 in prizes, entrants from New Zealand and the Pacific will come under the scrutiny of the Westfield Style Pasifika judging panel, which will include fashion designer Liz Mitchell along with Denise L’Estrange-Corbet and Frances Hooper from WORLD.
The overall supreme winner will be chosen from one of the 11 award categories – Body Art; Youthtown; Traditionally Inspired; Asia Pasifika; Three-Piece Collection; Pasifika Hero; Urban Streetwear; Menswear; Eveningwear; Bridal; and Parent & Child.
Applications close on July 9 and garments must be received by July 29.
