 Designer Garage Sale Confirmed for New Zealand Fashion Festival

A new 'summer edition' of the popular Designer Garage Sale will be held at the former Alinghi Base at Auckland's Viaduct Harbour from March 20-21, 2010, as part of the inaugural New Zealand Fashion Festival. Designer Garage Sale organiser, Jill Blomfield, says the New Zealand Herald is back on board as naming sponsor and a long list of designers have signed-up to take part in the event, which looks likely to exceed last year's outing at Air New Zealand Fashion Weekend.
The original 'winter edition' of the Designer Garage Sale will continue to be part of New Zealand Fashion Week and remains a huge drawcard for fashion savvy shoppers. For more information visit www.designergaragesale.co.nz
The New Zealand Fashion Festival will launch with a multi-designer fashion show profiling in-season collections. With an emphasis on the consumer, rather than trade, Fashion Festival organisers believe that the event will create a buzz around New Zealand's fashion industry and by supporting its capability and stimulating retail.
The concept will develop over the next few years to include a variety of daytime and evening shows, as well as free events around the city.
