Fashion Industry New Zealand

Fashion Industry New Zealand (FINZ) is the voice of New Zealand's fashion sector and wider apparel industry. The not-for-profit organisation was founded 'by the industry' to provide representation and support 'for the industry'.

“Our mission is to ensure the future growth and development of the fashion and apparel industry, and to see it valued for its economic, creative and cultural contribution to New Zealand.”

2010 FINZ Historical Lectures

(New Zealand) - The 2010 FINZ Historical Lectures were a great success, packing out auditoriums in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin from May 18-21. Presented by Fashion Industry New Zealand (FINZ), the series was inspired by the celebrated new publication from Te Papa Press – New Zealand Fashion Design. The book’s author and fashion historian, Angela Lassig, was on hand to discuss the emergence of contemporary fashion design in New Zealand and conduct conversations with designers at each of the events. New Zealand Fashion Museum Brings Stories Out Of the Closet

(New Zealand) - The recently launched New Zealand Fashion Museum is the brainchild of former fashion designer Doris de Pont, who has traded in trend-setting to record fashion’s contribution to New Zealand and provide narratives on the ways that we express our unique cultural identity through what we wear, and how we wear it. “If you look at the photos of our past, you’ll see some amazingly dressed men and women.
