Our friends at DHL have just expanded their official partnership with global events organiser IMG to include Fashion Week in Paris, Zurich and Tokyo. Now entering its fourth year, the alliance will see DHL providing logistics services to 23 IMG Fashion Week and Fashion Day events in 10 countries on four continents.
The global express and logistics company will also expand the scope of its services, allowing couturiers at IMG Fashion Weeks to use its DHL GoGreen carbon-offset services to transport their collections.
"Over the past decades, DHL has gained the experience and knowledge to develop flexible logistics solutions for the fashion and garment industry, which is an increasingly important sector of the global economy," says Christof Ehrhart, executive vice president of corporate communications at Deutsche Post DHL.
"In that respect, we are proud to continue and widen our official partnership with IMG Fashion Week."
DHL is one of the leading logistics service providers for the global textile and garment industry, providing services that range from procurement, sample production and quality control, to garment warehousing, processing and direct delivery to retail.
Its customers include small independent fashion boutiques seeking one-off service, as well as large retail groups with complex distribution requirements. More and more, designers around the world, including Vivienne Westwood and Michael Michalsky, are utilising DHL's fashion know-how and dedicated services.
